Saying that the doctors and nurses have lost all faith, trust and confidence in him, he said, "They will continue to agitate for your removal for you seem not to understand that of all the resources, the greatest resource is the human resource." Accusing him of turning his back on poor people who come to the southern general hospital, he said he could not think of one doctor or nurse who was in support of him.
"And (I) must tell you that I do fear for your safety and security, for you have hurt too many, too deeply," said Chatoorgoon, who added that Bodoe was the wrong person to head the largest RHA in the country. When contacted Dr Bodoe refused to say whether he would consider stepping down. "All I can say is I do not think it is appropriate to dignify Dr Chatoorgoon's allegations with a response.I refuse to be drawn into any public squabble with an employee of the SWRHA," he added.
