Cul­tur­al "am­bas­sador" and so­ca su­per­star Machel Mon­tano, re­turned for tri­al at the Port-of-Spain Mag­is­trates' Court yes­ter­day, just days af­ter at­tend­ing a cul­tur­al mis­sion to Lon­don.Mon­tano re­turned on Sat­ur­day from the Prime Min­is­ter Kam­la Per­sad-Bisses­sar-led mis­sion, and was again ex­am­ined on his ev­i­dence on what tran­spired at the Zen night­club four years ago on April 26, 2007.Mon­tano, 36, of St Au­gus­tine, en­tered day two of cross-ex­am­i­na­tion at the Fifth Court be­fore Mag­is­trate Mau­reen Ba­boolal-Gafoor.

George Bus­by is pros­e­cut­ing for the state.The 2011 In­ter­na­tion­al So­ca Monarch and Road March win­ner was ques­tioned on when he first pro­duced the hit "Too Young To So­ca".But most of yes­ter­day's hear­ing be­longed to le­gal ar­gu­ments be­tween Bus­by and Mon­tano's at­tor­ney Dana See­ta­hal, SC.Machel Mon­tano HD and en­ter­tain­ers Joel "Zan" Fezeck, Ker­nal Roberts, song­writer/pro­duc­er and Rod­ney "Ben­jai" Le Blanc are charged with as­sault­ing Rus­sell Pol­lon­ais.Mon­tano, Fezeck and Roberts al­so are charged with as­sault­ing Bran­dis Brown.

The tri­al con­tin­ues to­day.
