Cultural "ambassador" and soca superstar Machel Montano, returned for trial at the Port-of-Spain Magistrates' Court yesterday, just days after attending a cultural mission to London.Montano returned on Saturday from the Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar-led mission, and was again examined on his evidence on what transpired at the Zen nightclub four years ago on April 26, 2007.Montano, 36, of St Augustine, entered day two of cross-examination at the Fifth Court before Magistrate Maureen Baboolal-Gafoor.
George Busby is prosecuting for the state.The 2011 International Soca Monarch and Road March winner was questioned on when he first produced the hit "Too Young To Soca".But most of yesterday's hearing belonged to legal arguments between Busby and Montano's attorney Dana Seetahal, SC.Machel Montano HD and entertainers Joel "Zan" Fezeck, Kernal Roberts, songwriter/producer and Rodney "Benjai" Le Blanc are charged with assaulting Russell Pollonais.Montano, Fezeck and Roberts also are charged with assaulting Brandis Brown.

The trial continues today.
