Tears of joy fell from the eyes of local singing sensation Raymond Ramnarine, the lead singer of T&T's superband Dil-e-Nadan, when he performed on stage for the first time with his son Varun.The father and son duo, along with Monali Takhur, a playback singer from India, and members of Dil-e-Nadan performed on Saturday night at the Centre of Excellence, Macoya, in the annual production entitled Everybody Loves Raymond.The programme opened with a performance by Rennie Ramnarine followed by Renuka Mahabir. Rennie and his daughter Samara Ramnarine teamed up to sing Sajde Ki.
General Imran, Kishore and Derek Seales all performed before Takhur hit the stage. Takhur sang the first three song to recorded tracks and was then joined members of the band Dil Ki Awaz who provided musical accompaniment for her.Clearly the star of the night was Raymond Ramnarine.The crowd packing the venue went into a frenzy when he came on stage.Raymond opened with Nache Baliah, Gapuchi and four other numbers before Mahabir made another appearance to sing Shola Jo.It was an emotional moment when Raymond performed Tere Mera Milan with Varun,10, since this represented the first time the youngster performed on a big stage.The show ended around 2 am yesterday.
