Two sus­pects, who po­lice said were be­ing sought in con­nec­tion with out­stand­ing crimes, were held on Tues­day night dur­ing the Mova­do Con­cert at the Cen­tre of Ex­cel­lence, Ma­coya. One was be­ing sought in con­nec­tion with a shoot­ing in­ci­dent in Tu­na­puna last month while the oth­er had been want­ed on an out­stand­ing war­rant for lar­ce­ny in Ari­ma. Both were held by po­lice of­fi­cers de­ployed at the con­cert.

Af­ter the con­cert, po­lice con­duct­ed road block ex­er­cis­es on parts of the Pri­or­i­ty Bus Route, Churchill-Roo­sevelt High­way and Pasea Road, Tu­na­puna and tick­et­ed 125 mo­torists for vary­ing traf­fic of­fences.

They al­so held five men in a car which had false num­ber plates. Po­lice, dur­ing the road block, al­so ar­rest­ed a dri­ver with a shot­gun in his pos­ses­sion. Those ar­rest­ed were be­ing ques­tioned up to late yes­ter­day.
