Works and Transport Minister Jack Warner yesterday presented a $100,000 cheque to the Baptist Cathedral Fund, one day after pledging the first donation. Warner told Shouter Baptists from the National Congress of Incorporated Baptists Organisation in St Augustine on Wednesday he would make the first contribution towards the construction of a cathedral in Las Lomas.
Warner had said he would take his three months' salary as Chaguanas West MP and Cabinet Minister and put it towards the fund. He also promised the Baptists during celebrations at the St Augustine Secondary School, Warren Street, St Augustine, he would construct a pedestrian walkover when Government began construction of the first Baptist school in Maloney.
