The House of Representatives meets today to debate the correct version of the Human Trafficking Bill after Government started debating the wrong version of the legislation last Friday. Copies of the correct bill were circulated in the Senate yesterday. The new bill's explanatory note stated that it superseded the bill "that was circulated on April 1 due to a printing error."
The Human Trafficking Bill had been piloted by National Security Minister John Sandy and debate began on the bill in the Lower House last Friday. But the Government had to halt debate when it was discovered that it was not the correct version of the bill being debated.
