He was lat­er em­ployed as the Guardian rep­re­sen­ta­tive in To­ba­go and al­so re­port­ed from Scar­bor­ough for NBS Ra­dio 610.

He mi­grat­ed to Cana­da where he served for many years as the CANA cor­re­spon­dent in Toron­to and al­so wrote for the Trinidad Ex­press. He al­so worked as a pho­tog­ra­ph­er lo­cal­ly and in North Amer­i­ca.As a jour­nal­ist, Thomas al­so did as­sign­ments for Ra­dio An­tilles and was the pre­sen­ter for ten years of the an­nu­al Christ­mas greet­ing pro­gramme, fea­tur­ing stu­dents and oth­er Trinidad and To­ba­go na­tion­als re­sid­ing in Cana­da.
