Government will debate the correct version of the Human Trafficking Bill on Monday in the Lower House since the new bill was circulated too late for debate yesterday, sources said. A foul-up occurred last Friday when Government began debate on the bill and halfway through, found it was the wrong version.
It was halted. The correct version was issued during Tuesday's Senate session with a note that it superceded the previous version "that was circulated on April 1, due to a printing error."
The new version was to have been debated at yesterday's House session but PNM sources said it was received too late for the Opposition and would be debated next Monday instead. The House will meet next Wednesday to debate Opposition Leader Keith Rowley's motion condemning former PSC chairman Nizam Mohammed. Tomorrow, the House debates former PNM leader Patrick Manning's motion seeking to have full representation for members who have Privileges Committee issues.
