String musicians face judges

Auditions for this year’s String Music Festival began yesterday at the Rudranath Capildeo Learning Resource Centre, Couva. The event, now in its fifth year, is hosted by the Southern String Association. Co-ordinator of the festival, Mervyn Crichlow, said winners of the competition would appear on a free show tomorrow at the same venue. He said more than 80 individuals and groups were expected to go before the judges at the auditions. He said guests artistes for tomorrow’s show included Munga Patasar, Robert Munroe and Kevin Singh.
