Au­di­tions for this year's String Mu­sic Fes­ti­val be­gan yes­ter­day at the Rudranath Capildeo Learn­ing Re­source Cen­tre, Cou­va.The event, now in its fifth year, is host­ed by the South­ern String As­so­ci­a­tion.Co-or­di­na­tor of the fes­ti­val, Mervyn Crichlow, said win­ners of the com­pe­ti­tion would ap­pear on a free show to­mor­row at the same venue.He said more than 80 in­di­vid­u­als and groups were ex­pect­ed to go be­fore the judges at the au­di­tions. He said guests artistes for to­mor­row's show in­clud­ed Munga Patasar, Robert Munroe and Kevin Singh.
