Young musicians benefit from ANSA McAL donation

The ANSA McAL Group of Companies has once again lent its support towards culture and music in Trinidad and Tobago. On April 15, ANSA McAL’s Group corporate communications manager, Sharon Balroop handed over a donation of two AMCO product hampers to Mervyn Critchlow, co-ordinator, The Court Street Chamber Orchestra, the entity which produces the fifth National String Music Festival. The festival took place over the period April 18-20 at the Rudranath Capildeo Learning Resource Centre, Couva.
The hampers were used in the Court Street Chamber Orchestra’s fund-raising ventures which were directed toward facilitating arrangements for the National String Music Festival, the purchase of music books, strings and assisting students facing financial challenges as they prepare for international music examinations. The Court Street Chamber Orchestra of San Fernando has been providing music education since 1992. The National String Music Festival provides young string instrumentalists an opportunity to perform in a friendly setting, whilst at the same time enhancing their educational and cultural experiences. It is held in years when the National Music Festival does not take place.
