This month's statutory meeting of the People's Partnership-controlled Diego Martin Regional Corporation did not take place as scheduled on Thursday.This is according to sources close to the corporation.Sources say no explanation was given for the development.One source said the corporation held its regular coordination meeting on Thursday morning.At that meeting matters relating to utilities, such as T&TEC and WASA, are discussed.
That meeting was chaired by the deputy chairman Alderman Robert Torres.After the meeting was concluded one UNC and one COP councillor received a phone call and Torres subsequently left the premises.Sources said it was the first time a statutory meeting of the corporation did not take place. No explanation was given some 24 hours later.Several key issues relating to certain infrastructure projects were to be concluded on Thursday.Corporation chairman Anthony Sammy could not be reached for comment yesterday.
