A 16-year-old girl has ap­peared in the Tu­na­puna Mag­is­trates' Court charged with wast­ing po­lice time. The girl, of Oro­poune Vil­lage, Pi­ar­co, ap­peared be­fore Mag­is­trate Gail Gon­sales on Mon­day. She was charged af­ter she re­port­ed to rel­a­tives on Sat­ur­day that she had been kid­napped by two men in a maxi taxi. Fol­low­ing her claims, a re­port was made at the Tu­na­puna Po­lice Sta­tion. A team of of­fi­cers, led by Seniro Supt Stephen Ram­sub­hag and in­clud­ing Cpls Drug­mo­han, Gan­ga Singh, PC New­ton and WPC Th­er­oulde con­duct­ed an in­ves­ti­ga­tion on Sun­day morn­ing. The of­fi­cers' in­ves­ti­ga­tion led them to a house in Curepe where they found the girl. On Mon­day she was re­mand­ed in cus­tody to reap­pear in court on May 16 pend­ing a pro­ba­tion's of­fi­cer re­port.
