Debate on the Human Trafficking Bill is expected to conclude in the Senate today.The bill, which was presented for debate by National Security Minister Brigadier John Sandy last week, seeks to create an offence of human trafficking and impose heavy penalties for offences conducted under the Act.
Meanwhile, Opposition Senator Fitzgerald Hinds has filed six questions for oral answer today.One of the questions he wants answered is whether Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar has assumed occupation of the official residence in St Ann's.He also wants to know whether the role and functions of the Police Complaints Authority have changed in the past 12 months.Today's sitting is scheduled to begin at 1.30 pm.
