Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar will be holding discussions with her ministers before announcing her Cabinet changes in a few weeks.Persad-Bissessar confirmed that yesterday while speaking to reporters at yesterday's opening of the El Socorro north access roads off the Churchill-Roosevelt Highway. On Friday, she announced the planned realignment next month of the 26-member Cabinet. This followed the ruling People's Partnership one-year anniversary in Government.
Asked about the realignment yesterday, Persad-Bissessar said: "I think everyone wants to know who will go where and what they will do.""I haven't made a final decision on those matters and I will tell you as soon as I have come to conclusion."There are matters I would want to discuss with our ministers before I make them (changes) public."When she had announced the upcoming realignment, Persad-Bissessar had singled out Works Minister Jack Warner and Science and Technology Minister Fazal Karim as performers.
Asked yesterday about the expected changes in the Cabinet, Warner said: "I take things in stride, I never bat out of my crease."I leave it in her hands, She will judge who performed and those who don't and she'll make her judgment in a deliberate way."Saying it was not for him to say if a realignment was needed, Warner added: "We in the (Works) Ministry work a hell of a lot but even so no one is ever perfect and if she chooses to re-organise our portfolios, then so be it."
