Some $62.6 mil­lion is ex­pect­ed to be spent on new road­works in Prime Min­is­ter Kam­la Per­sad-Bisses­sar's con­stituen­cy of Siparia. This was an­nounced by Works and Trans­port Min­is­ter Jack Warn­er on Wednes­day af­ter­noon at the Scott Road Recre­ation­al Ground. He was speak­ing at the open­ing cer­e­mo­ny which marked the re­fur­bish­ment of Scott Road and Mendez Trace.

He was ac­com­pa­nied by the Prime Min­is­ter. Warn­er said a to­tal of $119 mil­lion was spent on the repaving of the road which be­gan in May 2010. He told res­i­dent gath­ered that Pe­nal was a bad road for the pre­vi­ous gov­ern­ment but his min­istry was able to de­liv­er new in­fra­struc­ture in less than one year. Per­sad-Bisses­sar was in high praise for the Peo­ple's Part­ner­ship and urged sup­port­ers to not be fazed by the neg­a­tiv­i­ty that had im­pact­ed up­on her gov­ern­ment re­cent­ly.
