$62m roadworks for Kamla’s constituency

Some $62.6 million is expected to be spent on new roadworks in Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar’s constituency of Siparia. This was announced by Works and Transport Minister Jack Warner on Wednesday afternoon at the Scott Road Recreational Ground. He was speaking at the opening ceremony which marked the refurbishment of Scott Road and Mendez Trace.

He was accompanied by the Prime Minister. Warner said a total of $119 million was spent on the repaving of the road which began in May 2010. He told resident gathered that Penal was a bad road for the previous government but his ministry was able to deliver new infrastructure in less than one year. Persad-Bissessar was in high praise for the People’s Partnership and urged supporters to not be fazed by the negativity that had impacted upon her government recently.
