Bas: Kamla unable to steer PP Govt
Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar “seems incapable” of maintaining order within the People’s Partnership and may cause the government to stumble and fall. This is the view of former prime minister and leader of the United National Congress (UNC) Basdeo Panday. He told the T&T Guardian: “The prime minister (Persad-Bissessar) seems incapable of instilling discipline in her Cabinet and they don’t seem to have a coherent policy on anything…That is why they keep stumbling over one another.”
The statements come on the heels of Persad-Bissessar being heralded as T&T’s prime minister of choice in a Sunday Guardian survey conducted by the ANSA McAL Psychological Research Centre. Panday warned that if the PM did not address issues quickly, her Government could come to a premature end since it is no longer popular for a discontented populace to “wait for their leaders” term of office to naturally expire.”
