Tobago House of Assembly (THA) Chief Secretary Orville London will finally meet with Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar. The two will meet at the Rovanel's Resort at 1 pm today following the Cabinet meeting in Tobago. London wrote the Prime Minister last week Wednesday for the third time since she took office almost a year ago, seeking a meeting to discuss governance in Tobago.
Later, they will take part in a ceremony for the renaming of the Crown Point International Airport to the Arthur NR Robinson International Airport at 2 pm. The Prime Minister also will deliver the feature address at the commissioning of the new Tobago Technical Centre at Bon Accord tomorrow at 10 am.
The agenda for the meeting between the Chief Secretary and the Prime Minister is not known but it is hoped discussions will assist in easing tension between the Tobago Development Minister Vernella Alleyne-Toppin and the THA, as well as the directorship of the Tobago Regional Health Authority, amendments to the THA Act No 40 of 1996 and constitutional reform.
