A police inspector attached to Traffic Branch has appeared before a Port-of-Spain magistrate to contest a ticket for driving without wearing a seatbelt. Lennox Brassey, who was dressed in full police uniform, including motorcycle gear, pleaded not guilty when he appeared before Magistrate Cheron Raphael in connection with the $1,000 fine on Tuesday.

Brassey was issued the ticket on December 22 last year after being stopped by PC Joefield, also of Traffic Branch, while driving on Independence Square North, Port-of-Spain. The matter was adjourned to September 30, after leave was granted to Brassey, who said he would be abroad from July to September. (DA)
