Se­nior Supt Robert Cum­mings, of the Cen­tral Di­vi­sion, has ad­vised that per­sons in the di­vi­sion who are aware of war­rants be­ing is­sued for their ar­rest turn them­selves in­to the Ch­agua­nas Po­lice Sta­tion to avoid the em­bar­rass­ment of be­ing ar­rest­ed and es­cort­ed in­to the sta­tion.

In an ear­ly morn­ing ex­er­cise in Ch­agua­nas yes­ter­day 25 sus­pects were ar­rest­ed for out­stand­ing war­rants in con­nec­tion with rob­bery, lar­ce­ny, drug of­fens­es and fail­ure to pay main­te­nance and fixed penal­ty tick­ets. The four-hour ex­er­cise be­gan at 2 am and was spear­head­ed by Cum­mins and as­sist­ed by Cpl Salin­dra Singh, PCs Clive Kalloo and Ricky Dass and in­clud­ed mem­bers of the Cen­tral Rob­bery Unit, CID and K9 Di­vi­sion.
