Prosperity for all becomes very difficult if peace, security and stability are absent, according to Planning minister Dr Bhoe Tewarie. He delivered his maiden contribution in the Senate yesterday on the human trafficking bill. He was congratulated by Government, Opposition and Independent senators.
Tewarie noted the PP' s Government campaign mantra "Prosperity for All" during his discourse on that point. He also said there was little hope for change if issues, like arrest and prosecution, which were important in crime-fighting, were lacking and if people were not arrested for crimes. Tewarie urged businesses to lean towards strategies and directions that would bring opportunities for the public and did not cause negative effects for them.
He also assured he would be a team player in the PP Government and "a source of support." He said the spirit of the Senate when he entered last week, was a convivial one with warm exchanges. He said he thought the atmosphere was "very, very positive."
