Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar continues to support Works and Transport Minister Jack Warner, who was suspended by a FIFA Ethics Committee pending allegations of bribery. The PM yesterday reiterated a statement she made on Saturday in which she said she stood in support of Warner pending the outcome of FIFA's investigations."I have not changed my mind. I will not prejudge the matter unless there is evidence to the contrary. I will stand by him in support."Warner, FIFA vice-president and executive committee member Mohamed bin Hammam and two Caribbean Football Union officials, Debbie Minguell and Jason Sylvester, were issued with provisional suspensions by the world football body. The Ethics Committee said there was sufficient evidence to further investigate allegations that bin Hammam and Warner offered bribes to delegates at a CFU meeting. The meeting was held at the Hyatt, Port-of-Spain, earlier last month. The bribes were allegedly to secure votes for bin Hammam in his bid to unseat FIFA president Sepp Blatter.
