Angostura's rum portfolio has won a total of 11 Rum Masters awards with two in 2009, four in 2010 and five at this years awards ceremony. At this year's Rum Masters Awards, Angostura was awarded the highly coveted Masters Medals for Angostura 1824 and Angostura seven-year-old. Gold medals were given to Angostura 1919, Angostura five-year-old and Angostura Reserva.
Angostura rums were also awarded at this year's San Francisco World Spirits competition. Gold medals were awarded to Angostura 1919 and Angostura five-year-old rums. Silver medals were given to Angostura 1824, Angostura seven-year-old, while Angostura Reserva was given a bronze medal. In a press release, Angostura's Master Distiller said: "We are absolutely delighted with our recent success at the Rum Masters Awards 2011 as well as the San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2011. "The House of Angostura has been making fine spirits since 1824 with almost 200 years experience of fermenting, distilling, ageing and blending.
"Angostura has become synonymous with producing some of the finest, smoothest rums on the market." Angostura's senior marketing and sales manager Brian Woods said it was no surprise that Angostura's international rum continued to be highly awarded as consumers and trade customers had embraced the "pure Trinidadian rum."
