Tobago police officers are investigating the death of a 37-year-old soldier who was found floating in the Nylon Pool, Pigeon Point, while swimming with friends on Sunday. Investigating officers strongly believe Lance Corporal Bevon Taylor, of Gaskin Bay Road, Crown Point, drowned. He had been attached to Camp Signal Hill base in Tobago. The incident happened around 5.45 pm. Police said eyewitnesses told them Taylor went missing while swimming following which friends searched for him. They found him unconscious floating face down a short distance away. One of his colleauges performed cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on him after which he was rushed to the Scarborough Regional Hospital. He died at about 6.55 pm. Crown Point Police are investigating.
