Armed robbers take two cars in Central
Chaguanas police are investigating two car thefts in central Trinidad which they say may be linked. In one incident, at around 12.15 pm on Sunday, the proprietor of Poonam Hardware was at his businessplace on Orange Field Road, Carapichaima, when he was approached by two men. One of the men, who was armed with a gun, announced a hold-up. The gunman hit the businessman on his head and robbed him of $10,000 and his gold Nissan valued at $70,000.
At around 12.05 am on Monday, a 26-year-old site coordinator, of Limehead Road Extension, Chase Village, was parking her silver Mitsubishi Lancer in front of her apartment building when two men approached the car. One of the men, who had a gun, robbed the woman of $3,100 in items, including two Samsung cellphones, a Coral cellphone, a dress, a flute and a swimsuit. The men then escaped in her car valued at $88,000.
