Ch­agua­nas po­lice are in­ves­ti­gat­ing two car thefts in cen­tral Trinidad which they say may be linked. In one in­ci­dent, at around 12.15 pm on Sun­day, the pro­pri­etor of Poon­am Hard­ware was at his busi­ness­place on Or­ange Field Road, Cara­pichaima, when he was ap­proached by two men. One of the men, who was armed with a gun, an­nounced a hold-up. The gun­man hit the busi­ness­man on his head and robbed him of $10,000 and his gold Nis­san val­ued at $70,000.

At around 12.05 am on Mon­day, a 26-year-old site co­or­di­na­tor, of Lime­head Road Ex­ten­sion, Chase Vil­lage, was park­ing her sil­ver Mit­subishi Lancer in front of her apart­ment build­ing when two men ap­proached the car. One of the men, who had a gun, robbed the woman of $3,100 in items, in­clud­ing two Sam­sung cell­phones, a Coral cell­phone, a dress, a flute and a swim­suit. The men then es­caped in her car val­ued at $88,000.
