Lance Corporal Bevon Taylor, a member of the First Infantry Battalion, of the Trinidad and Tobago Regiment, who died last Sunday, will be laid to rest with full military rites tomorrow. The 37-year-old soldier, of Gaskin Bay Road, Crown Point, Tobago, drowned while swimming with friends at the Nylon Pool, Pigeon Point. The funeral service will take place at the Deliverance Tabernacle, Calvary Road, Bon Accord, Tobago, from 2 pm.
After the service the body will be placed on a gun carriage and carried in a military procession to the Buccoo public cemetery, Buccoo, for internment. According to a release from the Trinidad and Tobago Regiment, Lance Corporal Taylor enlisted on September 29, 1999. He completed basic training at Teteron Barracks and was posted to Alpha Company, of the First Infantry Battalion, based at Camp Ogden, Long Circular Road, St James. He leaves to mourn his wife, Carla, and daughter, Blessing.
