For­mer gov­ern­ment min­is­ter and To­ba­go East MP Ren­nie Du­mas, who was charged with as­sault on Tues­day, has re­signed from his po­si­tion in the Of­fice of the Chief Sec­re­tary of the To­ba­go House of As­sem­bly. Du­mas, who held the post of Co-or­di­na­tor, Strate­gic Over­sight Unit, ten­dered his res­ig­na­tion with im­me­di­ate ef­fect to Chief Sec­re­tary Orville Lon­don just hours af­ter he was served with a sum­mons to an­swer the as­sault charges. He is charged with com­mon as­sault and oc­ca­sion­ing ac­tu­al bod­i­ly harm on Roger Si­mon and is due to ap­pear be­fore a Scar­bor­ough Mag­is­trate next Wednes­day.
