Commissioner of Police Dwayne Gibbs responding to media reports that special adviser to Prime Minister (Kamla Persad-Bissessar) Sasha Mohammed had been reprimanded by the police following threatening e-mails she allegedly sent to two reporters of a media house, said he had no information on the matter save what he "read in the paper"."I don't have any information on that just yet so I won't make a comment on that at this point," he said.

The alleged threats were in connection with a perceived bias the reporters might have had in the manner in which they investigated (reported) the Reshmi Usha Ramnarine story.Pressed for a comment on the issue, National Security Minister John Sandy said "he had no idea" of the matter but was confident that "if it is a criminal offence, the police will take whatever action necessary." Arts and Multiculturalism Minister Winston "Gypsy" Peters, also present at the event, stayed clear from this latter issue, saying: "I am not about to comment on that.-Brent Zephyrine
