One day after heart tests were performed at a private institution on the husband of Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar, he appeared on a stage at the UNC's Curry Duck, Sports and Family Day at Powergen grounds, Penal, last night. With his arm around his wife and waving with his other hand, Dr Gregory Bissessar made a brief surprise appearance on stage. He was not with her when she first arrived. An angiography was performed on Bissessar at the St Clair Medical Centre on Friday where doctors advised him that there appeared to be some blockage in his system and surgery might be required.Persad-Bissessar, who gave brief remarks, refused to speak with members of the media and even caused a police barricade to be formed around her as she ducked questions.

From the minute she arrived to when she left, Persad-Bissessar totally ignored media personnel who were anxiously waiting to question her about a front-page article in the Trinidad Express yesterday which stated the cyber police had traced threatening e-mails to that newspaper's employees to a computer at the home of her special adviser Sasha Mohammed. Approached about the Mohammed issue Works and Transport Minister Jack Warner said: "I not in that. When the Prime Minster come ask her."Both Housing Minister Dr Roodal Moonilal and Local Government Minister Chandresh Sharma said they had not read the article. "I imagine if it is a police matter it is a police matter," said Moonilal. Sharma, however, said if it was a legal issue then the law will always apply.
