Po­lice have ar­rest­ed and charged a male rel­a­tive for the mur­der of Bar­rack­pore pen­sion­er Calvin Par­tap Go­sine who was fa­tal­ly stabbed on June 6. Po­lice had ini­tial­ly de­tained Go­sine's wife but af­ter con­duct­ing en­quiries, she was re­leased and a search was mount­ed for the male rel­a­tive. Re­ports said the man went miss­ing af­ter he gave a state­ment to po­lice fol­low­ing Go­sine's death. He was charged on Sat­ur­day by Woman Cor­po­ral Mor­ri­son of South­ern Di­vi­sion Homi­cide.

Go­sine, 63, was mur­dered at his Cun­jal Road home. Ac­cord­ing to re­ports, he was in the com­pa­ny of his wife and a rel­a­tive when there was an al­ter­ca­tion that end­ed with the fa­tal stab­bing. Go­sine died at the scene be­fore an am­bu­lance could ar­rive. The rel­a­tive is ex­pect­ed to ap­pear in the Siparia Mag­is­trates Court to­mor­row.
