Legal Affairs Minister Prakash Ramadhar says adviser to the Prime Minister Sasha Mohammed should step aside, pending completion of investigations into threatening e-mails being sent from her computer to Express Editor-in-Chief Omatie Lyder and reporter Anna Ramdass. The police said investigations had confirmed that the e-mails were sent under the name Janice Thomas.Ramadhar was questioned about the matter by reporters outside the St Clair Medical Centre yesterday.
He said if any serious allegation was made against anyone, "then they should step aside." Ramadhar said people must also be cautious of how they comment on such matters for fear of prejudicing police investigations. He said there was no difference in his call a few weeks ago for Works and Transport Minister Jack Warner to step aside, pending completion of investigations in bribery allegations by FIFA and for Sasha Mohammed issue."The allegation having been made, if it is serious, I would imagine that she should step aside until a final determination is made," Ramadhar said.
