A 12-year-old boy and a 51-year-old Spanish national will appear before an Arima magistrate today charged with possession of marijuana and with cocaine for the purpose of trafficking respectively. Police said the boy was at his Arouca home when they made the arrest. Three others were held at the residence. Investigators said the boy lived at the house where a quantity of marijuana was being sold. Several sticks and rolled joints were seized by officers of the Organised Crime, Narcotics and Firearms Bureau (OCNFB).
In the other incident, the Spanish national said to be a fisherman, was arrested at the Piarco International Airport on Friday evening. OCNFB officers searched several suitcases belonging to the suspect and seized four kilos of powdered cocaine with an estimated value of $2 million. He was attempting to board British Airways flight 2158 to London around 4.15 pm.
