A 21-year-old Bel­mont man is to ap­pear be­fore a Port-of-Spain mag­is­trate to­day fol­low­ing his ar­rest by po­lice with three stolen cars.At around 4 pm yes­ter­day of­fi­cers of the North-East­ern Di­vi­sion Task Force (NEDTF), act­ing on a tip-off, re­cov­ered the cars out­side a house on Belle Eau Road, Bel­mont.Po­lice lat­er dis­cov­ered that one of the cars, a Nis­san Almera was stolen from its own­er at gun point on­ly a few hours ear­li­er in St James.The man was caught by po­lice at­tempt­ing to burn doc­u­ments that came from the re­cent­ly stolen car. Po­lice be­lieve that the house was be­ing used by a group of car thieves and are cur­rent­ly search­ing for two oth­er sus­pects. The ex­er­cise was con­duct­ed by Sgt Roger Alexan­der, Cpl Sunil Bharath and PCs Leza­ma and Ma­habir. (DA)
