For­eign Af­fairs Min­is­ter Su­ruj Ram­bachan leaves this morn­ing at the head of a T&T del­e­ga­tion to at­tend the 32nd Cari­com sum­mit in St Kitts/Nevis which be­gins to­day.Venue is the St Kitts Mar­riot Re­sort ho­tel at Frigate Bay.Prime Min­is­ter Kam­la Per­sad-Bisses­sar is ex­pect­ed to ar­rive in St Kitts to­mor­row, since she is at­tend­ing the fi­nal leg of the Women's Con­fer­ence at Hilton Trinidad to­day.

Ac­com­pa­ny­ing Ram­bachan are for­mer Cari­com sec­re­tary gen­er­al Ed­win Car­ring­ton, now an am­bas­sador with the Gov­ern­ment, Am­bas­sador Mervyn As­sam and Trade Min­is­ter Stephen Cadiz.Re­gion­al min­is­ters be­gin meet­ings from this af­ter­noon be­fore the of­fi­cial open­ing cer­e­mo­ny at St Kitt's East­ern Caribbean De­vel­op­ment Bank head­quar­ters lat­er tonight.The open­ing cer­e­mo­ny fea­tures the pre­sen­ta­tion of a re­gion­al award to Car­ring­ton, as well as ad­dress­es by re­cent­ly-elect­ed re­gion­al lead­ers from Bar­ba­dos, Haiti, Suri­name and St Vin­cent.The sum­mit takes place amid a strike by re­gion­al air­line LI­AT ground staff.
