Tatil Life is sending Secondary Education Assessment (SEA) top male student Rai Rooplal on an all expenses paid trip to Tobago with his parents, Robert and Laura Rooplal. Managing director of Tatil Life, Richard Jones, presented Rai with an all-inclusive trip to Tropikist Beach Hotel and Resort, Tobago. He was presented with the package yesterday at a ceremony in his honour at Tatil Life, Maraval Road, Port-of-Spain.
Rooplal also was presented with a $500 Gold Spoon voucher to spend at any ANSA McAL group company. Jones said Robert Rooplal bought the Tatil Gold Spoon policy for Rai in May, a policy which provided life insurance, education funding and business development funds. He said for Tatil Life to have Rai as a member of its family was an honour and wished the best for his future. In an interview, a shy Rai said he was excited to take his Tobago trip. He said it was his goal in life to become a pilot and fly Boeing planes.
Rai said his love for aeroplanes came from his father Robert, an air traffic controller at Piarco International Airport. Rai, who will be attending Presentation College, Chaguanas, in September, said he chose Presentation because of its cricket team. He recently lunched with his hero, world record batsman Brian Lara, an experience, he said, was a dream come true.
