The flight crew of Caribbean Airlines (CAL) flight BW 523 have returned to T&T. A TV6 report last night said the six-member crew, including Captain Fareed Dean, returned to T&T yesterday morning. The crew returned after being interviewed by the International Multi-Disciplinary Investigation Team on Monday. They were reported to have been staying at the Princess Hotel, Georgetown, Guyana, after the incident.
Reports stated the black box from the flight had been sent to the National Safety Control Board headquarters in Washington, DC, as part of the investigation into the incident. The US investigation team is expected to listen to the black box recording tomorrow. CAL representatives are expected to be present during the process. The black box is a device used to record communication between pilots, flight crew and air traffic control. Caribbean Airlines (CAL) flight BW523 ran off the runway at Cheddi Japan International Airport early Saturday morning.
