The pre­lim­i­nary in­quiry in­to the mur­der of eight-year-old Daniel Guer­ra has been ad­journed to Au­gust 25.Yes­ter­day, Po­lice Con­sta­ble Dar­win Ghouralal, who is ac­cused of Daniel's mur­der, reap­peared in the San Fer­nan­do First Court be­fore Jus­tice of the Peace Jack­ie Sargeant.At around 9.49 am, Ghouralal ap­peared in the hold­ing docks. He was the lone pris­on­er at the time.

His lawyer, Michelle Solomon, who in­structs at­tor­ney Sophia Chote, told Sargeant she and pros­e­cu­tor Mauriciea Joseph had agreed to ad­journ the mat­ter to Au­gust 25.Sargeant agreed to the date and in­formed Ghouralal.The charge against Ghouralal, 41, of La Ro­main, is that on a date un­known be­tween Feb­ru­ary 17 and 21, he mur­dered Daniel.Ghouralal has 15 years ser­vice as a po­lice of­fi­cer and last worked with the Rob­bery Squad in the South­ern Di­vi­sion. The charge was laid by Sgt An­der­son Par­ri­man. (RR)
