The preliminary inquiry into the murder of eight-year-old Daniel Guerra has been adjourned to August 25.Yesterday, Police Constable Darwin Ghouralal, who is accused of Daniel's murder, reappeared in the San Fernando First Court before Justice of the Peace Jackie Sargeant.At around 9.49 am, Ghouralal appeared in the holding docks. He was the lone prisoner at the time.
His lawyer, Michelle Solomon, who instructs attorney Sophia Chote, told Sargeant she and prosecutor Mauriciea Joseph had agreed to adjourn the matter to August 25.Sargeant agreed to the date and informed Ghouralal.The charge against Ghouralal, 41, of La Romain, is that on a date unknown between February 17 and 21, he murdered Daniel.Ghouralal has 15 years service as a police officer and last worked with the Robbery Squad in the Southern Division. The charge was laid by Sgt Anderson Parriman. (RR)
