Beetham Gardens resident Raheem Reid, 15, escaped death when a gunman opened fire on him. He was struck by one of 23 bullets. Reports said on Friday night, Reid, who lives at 19th Street, was in the vicinity of the Churchill Roosevelt Highway when an Almera motor car pulled up and one of the occupants opened fire. Reid fled but one of the bullets pierced his shoulder. He was rushed to the Port-of-Spain General Hospital where he remains warded in serious condition. It comes in the wake of several murders in the area. Police said the shooting was linked to a raging gang warfare.
