The assurance was given by Sahadeo Ragoonanan, a director of the entertainment facility in Rio Claro.
On Tuesday, the Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) disconnected the supply of water to the facility, claiming the establishment had an illegal connection. The authority also laid charges of making an illegal water connection against the facility's owner, Harrypersad Ragoonanan. That matter comes up for hearing on September 27. Harrypersad, in an interview Tuesday night, denied he had an illegal connection to his businessplace. In a statement yesterday, Sahadeo Ragoonanan said: "WASA has disconnected the supply to the facility but we use recycled treated water for the water slides and other facilities at the park.
"This water is also used for the washrooms but is not used for drinking or cooking. We have taken steps to ensure we have an adequate supply to run the operations." "I want to assure all the people who are coming to the water park to enjoy themselves as we are operating as usual. "We are taking the normal measures to ensure that all hygienic requirements are met. The comfort of our patrons is of paramount importance." He said patrons would normally bring in their own drinking and cooking water or buy it from the park's bar and food court. He maintained the park did not have any illegal or un-authorised water connections. The director said the company would meet with their lawyers to decide on a course of action.
