Guardian Life is reinforcing its commitment to education by once again partnering with The University of the West Indies, St Augustine campus, to host the UWI/Guardian Life Premium Open Lecture 2011, on September 30 at 5.30 pm, at the Daaga Auditorium, UWI. This event, organised through the Instructional Development Unit (IDU), The UWI, St Augustine aims to contribute to the university's commitment to outreach and general education of the public.
Delivering this year's lecture is Dr Maryellen Weimer, Professor Emerita of Teaching and Learning, Penn State University, USA, and winner of the Milton S Eisenhower award for distinguished teaching. Her talk is entitled Maximum Impact: Using Feedback to Drive Assessment. The lecture targets the teaching fraternity with special invitations to teachers and teaching administrators of tertiary institutions, secondary and primary schools and members of the general public who are interested in education. The public is encouraged to attend.
