Min­is­ter of Sci­ence, Tech­nol­o­gy and Ter­tiary Ed­u­ca­tion Fazal Karim speak at the open­ing of the En­er­gy Cham­ber's Learn­ing Cen­tre at At­lantic Plaza, Point Lisas, to­mor­row at 9 am. Min­is­ter of En­er­gy and En­er­gy Af­fairs Kevin Ram­nar­ine and Min­is­ter of Labour and Small and Mi­cro En­ter­prise De­vel­op­ment Er­rol McLeod will al­so be speak­ing at the event. Af­ter the brief for­mal open­ing, there will be a tour of the cen­tre.

The En­er­gy Cham­ber Learn­ing Cen­tre is an in­no­v­a­tive com­put­er-based train­ing and as­sess­ment cen­tre, which will pro­vide ba­sic train­ing and as­sess­ments and train­ing for in­di­vid­u­als work­ing in the en­er­gy sec­tor, with a par­tic­u­lar em­pha­sis on health and safe­ty. The En­er­gy Cham­ber an­tic­i­pates that at least 6,000 in­di­vid­ual work­ers in the sec­tor will use the ser­vices of the learn­ing cen­tre on an an­nu­al ba­sis. The train­ing and as­sess­ment units have been de­vel­oped in very close col­lab­o­ra­tion with in­dus­try, and de­signed to meet spe­cif­ic in­dus­try needs.
