Po­lice are in­ves­ti­gat­ing the cir­cum­stances sur­round­ing the death of a 28-year-old preg­nant woman who re­port­ed­ly died af­ter ac­ci­den­tal­ly set­ting her­self on fire on Tues­day night. In­ves­ti­ga­tors say they have not ruled out foul play in the death of Ch­agua­nas ven­dor Gee­ta See­gob­in. She was said to be three months' preg­nant. Ac­cord­ing to re­ports, See­gob­in, of Good­will Road, En­ter­prise, left her home to vis­it a male com­pan­ion who lives a short dis­tance away at Charles Street. At around 11 pm, See­gob­in and the man were drink­ing pun­cheon rum when some of the al­co­hol ac­ci­den­tal­ly spilled on her clothes.

See­gob­in then lit a cig­a­rette which some­how came in­to con­tact with her dress caus­ing her cloth­ing to ig­nite. The flames were brought un­der con­trol with the as­sis­tance of the male friend. See­gob­in was tak­en to the Ch­agua­nas Health Fa­cil­i­ty by am­bu­lance, where she re­ceived emer­gency treat­ment, but suc­cumbed to her in­juries short­ly af­ter. Woman Cor­po­ral John, of the Ch­agua­nas CID, is con­tin­u­ing in­ves­ti­ga­tions.
