Resh­ma Ra­goonath

A 54 year-old Pleas­antville man who al­leged­ly used his cell­phone to take a pho­to­graph un­der the skirt of an un­sus­pect­ing woman at the Mara­bel­la Mar­ket was yes­ter­day re­mand­ed to cus­tody. Christo­pher Fras­er, of Blitz Vil­lage, ap­peared be­fore Jus­tice of the Peace Al­fred Ali in the San Fer­nan­do First Court charged with com­mit­ting in­de­cent as­sault. Fras­er, who was un­rep­re­sent­ed, was in­formed of the charge laid against him by WPC Maria Mo­hammed.

He is charged with in­de­cent­ly as­sault­ing a woman on Sun­day while at the Mara­bel­la Mar­ket, Mar­ket Street, Mara­bel­la. Po­lice pros­e­cu­tor Sgt Gor­don Ma­haraj asked for time to have Fras­er's crim­i­nal record traced.

He is to reap­pear in court on Wednes­day. Ac­cord­ing to po­lice re­ports around 10.30 am the woman was shop­ping at the mar­ket when she felt some­thing touch her. She made a re­port to Mo­hammed, PCs Mc Alpine and Ram­nanan. They held Fras­er a short dis­tance away.
