A San Fer­nan­do mag­is­trate yes­ter­day as­sured ten men ac­cused of be­ing gang mem­bers, who ex­pressed frus­tra­tion over their de­ten­tion, that a rep­re­sen­ta­tive of the Di­rec­tor of Pub­lic Pros­e­cu­tions would be in court on Thurs­day. The men plead­ed with First Court Mag­is­trate Ali­cia Chankar.

A le­gal rep­re­sen­ta­tive said that the DPP's of­fice was not in pos­ses­sion of the case files. Chankar said she would per­son­al­ly en­sure that on Thurs­day some­one from the DPP's of­fice will be in court. The ac­cused are Mar­lon Whar­wood, Orel Dy­er, Er­ick­son Ben­jamin, Shel­don Ben­jamin, Ka­reem Kalla, Qua­si Kalla, Dil­lon Massy, Quin­cy Noel and Steven Reyes. (SW)
