De­tec­tives of the South West­ern Di­vi­sion­al Task Force ex­e­cut­ed a search in a bushy area at Moru­ga yes­ter­day and re­cov­ered a shot­gun, car­tridges and a cro­cus bag filled with loose mar­i­jua­na. In­ves­ti­ga­tors said a team of of­fi­cers led by Supt Franklin Sam­path and in­clud­ing In­sp Seedarie, Actg Sgt Shel­don Ablacks­ingh, Cpl Jessie Jit­mans­ingh and PC's Jamaldin and Sci­pio, went to the fish­ing vil­lage of La Lune, Moru­ga where they ex­e­cut­ed a search.

The shot­gun, car­tridge and the bag of mar­i­jua­na were found hid­den in some bush­es a short dis­tance away from the main road. The mar­i­jua­na which weighed 25 kilo­grams, car­ried a street val­ue of $250,000. No one was ar­rest­ed. The gun is ex­pect­ed to be sent for bal­lis­tic test­ing. Po­lice said since the state of emer­gency crim­i­nals had tak­en refuge in the forests of Moru­ga. Of­fi­cers said they will con­tin­ue pa­trols in spe­cif­ic ar­eas to flush out the crim­i­nals.
