Lawmen returned yesterday to the Biche/Charuma forest and destroyed more marijuana trees. Police said they have destroyed approximately $160 million worth of marijuana in the eradication exercise which began on Monday. On Monday, officers from the Organised Crime, Narcotics and Firearms Bureau and Eastern Division Task Force went to the forest and found the trees.
They burned one field which had approximately 45,000 fully-grown marijuana trees. On Tuesday, the lawmen returned to the forest and destroyed an estimated 152,000 trees. Police said they found seedlings, cured marijuana, two shotguns, ammunition and a high-powered crossbow. Members of the T&T Defence Force assisted in the exercise.
