Two Arima residents appeared in the Sangre Grande Magistrates' Court yesterday charged with the murder of retired Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Cecil Carrington. Kernel Lewis, 19, of Sherwood Park, Arima and Ricardo Dalipsingh, 24, of Cleaver Road, Arima, both appeared before Senior Magistrate Anna Ryan. Carrington, a member of the infamous Flying Squad, was shot dead at his Manzanilla hotel "Carrie's on the Bay" on January 20, this year.
Dalipsingh was represented by attorney Reynold Waldrop, while attorney Nigel Trancoso represented Lewis. The men were remanded into custody and the matter was adjourned to November 4.
