Chaguanas West MP Jack Warner is urging young people to develop a sense of discipline and take advantage of the many opportunities in education. He gave the advice as he delivered a motivational speech at the Felicity Presbyterian School yesterday. Warner said education and discipline were necessary to become a success and better citizens. He said teachers too should be setting the correct examples to mould students along the correct path.
He said: "There are some schools where you do not know the difference between a teacher and a vagrant." Warner said when he was young, education was a rare opportunity given to those who could afford or who got a scholarship. He said he had to walk six miles from his home at Longdenville to high school. Warner said his days at primary school were not an easy task. Warner said his school days were filled with crowded classes under leaky roofs.
