A po­lice of­fi­cer has been charged with bribery. He was ar­rest­ed by of­fi­cers of the An­ti-Cor­rup­tion Bu­reau dur­ing a sting op­er­a­tion on Thurs­day evening. The of­fi­cer is as­signed to the St Joseph Po­lice Sta­tion. It is al­leged he was caught tak­ing a $6,000 bribe from a busi­ness­man out­side a bar in St Joseph.

It is al­leged the of­fi­cer promised to tear up the re­port on an ac­ci­dent and hand over the med­ical on the vic­tim. Up to late yes­ter­day he was in cus­tody. Se­nior Supt Solomon Koon Koon, In­sps Pe­ter Do­minique, Au­gus­tus Ka­to, Sgts Garth Camp­bell, An­tho­ny Bou­can and Ravi Nanan took part in the ex­er­cise.
