Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar says the introduction of the National Integrated Business Incubators System (IBIS) has been launched at a time when T&T is in need of an increased entrepreneurship drive. She said IBIS was a viable mechanism for new and advanced opportunities for wealth creation and poverty alleviation.
The PM delivered the keynote address at the launch of the IBIS at the Hyatt Regency in Port-of-Spain on Thursday. The function which was scheduled to begin at 3 pm, started almost 90 minutes later due to Persad-Bissessar's late arrival. Members of the Cabinet met on Thursday. However, the weekly-post Cabinet news briefing was postponed. Persad-Bissessar said she believed entrepreneurs were visionaries. She said co-founder of Apple Inc, the late Steve Jobs and Sir Richard Branson were entrepreneurs.
