Prime Min­is­ter Kam­la Per­sad-Bisses­sar says the in­tro­duc­tion of the Na­tion­al In­te­grat­ed Busi­ness In­cu­ba­tors Sys­tem (IBIS) has been launched at a time when T&T is in need of an in­creased en­tre­pre­neur­ship dri­ve. She said IBIS was a vi­able mech­a­nism for new and ad­vanced op­por­tu­ni­ties for wealth cre­ation and pover­ty al­le­vi­a­tion.

The PM de­liv­ered the keynote ad­dress at the launch of the IBIS at the Hy­att Re­gency in Port-of-Spain on Thurs­day. The func­tion which was sched­uled to be­gin at 3 pm, start­ed al­most 90 min­utes lat­er due to Per­sad-Bisses­sar's late ar­rival. Mem­bers of the Cab­i­net met on Thurs­day. How­ev­er, the week­ly-post Cab­i­net news brief­ing was post­poned. Per­sad-Bisses­sar said she be­lieved en­tre­pre­neurs were vi­sion­ar­ies. She said co-founder of Ap­ple Inc, the late Steve Jobs and Sir Richard Bran­son were en­tre­pre­neurs.
